1. Working independently or with consultant architects/engineers, designs and preparing plans and specifications, developing cost estimates, and coordinating & implementation of capital improvement projects, overseeing the work and administering consultant construction.
2. Presenting project design to Department Heads and County Administrative Staff for review and making recommendations to meet their needs.
3. Developing construction bid proposals, reviewing bid specifications, recommending contract approval and administering contracts with consultant architects and engineers.
4. Participating in final inspection of improvement projects and making recommendation regarding acceptance of construction work.
5. Reviewing building plans and site design for aesthetics, environmental acceptability, compliance with codes and standards and accessibility requirements.
6. Acting as a Lead Worker over the activities of subordinate professional staff.
7. Preparing reports and correspondence.
