Finance Professor•Professor
It is my pleasure to write this letter of reference for one of my former students Daniyah Daghistani who completed the M.S. Finance program at the Satish and Yasmin Gupta College of Business, University of Dallas in 2015. From the M.S. Finance Program, Daniyah has set up solid foundation of finance on topics like Time Value of Money, Capital Budgeting, Capital Structure, Bond Valuation, Stock Valuation, and Derivatives Valuation. Furthermore, she has performed excellent in advanced investments topics such as Asset Allocation, Portfolio Optimization and Risk Management. Daniyah took FINA 8395 Portfolio Management with me and she received an “A” in class. The objective of this course is to apply all finance knowledge which students have learned in other advanced finance courses such as Investments, Derivatives, and Corporate Valuations. Students are also required to participate in the SMIF and make timely valid investment decision in the real capital market. In weekly SMIF discussion, Daniyah demonstrated great analytical skill and made rigorous investment recommendations. Daniyah is always a great team member and go-getter in the group project. She is not only self-motivated, but also an active leader. She was also the SMIF team leader when the student group made presentation to the SMIF advisory board. The presentation was very successful and highly praised by the Gupta COB Dean. Daniyah’s excellent performance was earned from her diligent and conscientious work. She is also intelligent in learning new skills and has very good sense of finance. I was very impressed by her solid mathematics background, proficient financial modeling skills and insightful finance related questions she asked in our class discussions. Based on her excellent performance in my class and my evaluation of her talent and diligence, I would like to recommend Daniyah without any reservation. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can provide more information.
