Key Responsibilities of a Quality Engineer:

Prepare and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in alignment with the project specifications, contract requirements, and applicable standards.

Develop and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality procedures, and method statements, ensuring full compliance with the project scope.

Coordinate and submit all quality-related documents, including material submittals, inspection requests, and test reports for consultant approval.

Ensure that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with the approved drawings, specifications, and quality procedures.

Monitor and verify that materials delivered to site conform to approved samples and technical submittals, and that the execution follows the approved method statements.

Conduct and supervise on-site inspections, sampling, and testing for construction materials (e.g., concrete, asphalt, soil, steel) as per relevant standards and specifications.

Identify, report, and propose solutions to quality-related issues, non-conformities, and potential risks during project execution.

Coordinate with the consultant’s quality team, site engineers, and subcontractors to ensure proper communication and resolution of quality concerns.

Maintain and archive complete quality documentation and records for audits and final project handover.

Ensure that all quality control activities are aligned with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements on site.

Participate in internal audits, third-party inspections, and client walkthroughs, and ensure timely closure of non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.

Promote a quality culture on site by conducting awareness sessions and toolbox talks on quality requirements and best practices.
