Patient care in emergency room, outpatient and inpatient sections for both obstetric and gynaec cases. Conducting normal deliveries and attending minor and major surgical procedures in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The Medical Colleges in which I have worked in are pioneer teaching medical institutions of Kerala, and are referral centers. One of them is 1225 bedded hospital where around 16, 000 deliveries, 4, 200 caesarean cases are being conducted per year. Vide varieties of obstetric and gynaec cases are encountered and attended. Obstetric cases include uncomplicated pregnancies, multiple pregnancy, breech, placenta previa, abruption, PPH and so forth. Gynaec cases include, fibroid uterus, prolapse uterus, DUB, ectopic gestation, carcinoma of the genital tract, endometriosis and so forth. I have independently done about 5, 000 LSCS both elective and emergency, more than 100 hysterectomies, 100 laparotomies, 120 ovarian cystectomy and ovariotomy and about 100 myomectomies. I have also done diagnostic laparoscopy, chromotubation, hysteroscopy and assisted hysteroscopical surgical procedures. I have supervised and conducted about 10, 000 deliveries which include vacuum and outlet forceps delivery, breech delivery, twin delivery, etc. The minor procedures done include endometrial aspiration, endometrial biopsy, cervical biopsy, fractional curettage, suction evacuation of vesicular mole, etc.

The department of pathology is a well implemented institution which works efficiently. The department is guided by 3 Professors, 8 associate professors, 10 assistant professors and 15 lecturers. There works about 100 technicians and assisting staff. The activities of different sections of the department include specimen collection, preservation, slide preparation and microscopic evaluation of the specimen which helps in diagnosis and I was an active part of all these activities. I was also involved in teaching activities.

Government Medical College Hospital, Thrissur, is a multi-speciality hospital with a well established General Medicine department having five units. I had the opportunity to work in the General Medicine department having outpatient, inpatient and casualty services. The activities of the department are patient care (most important), case study, bedside discussions and lectures. I was part of all these activities and got the opportunity to consult with seniors. This enhanced my professional skills.

I had worked as Casuality Medical Officer for one and a half years in private sector after the completion of my internship with effect from 01/06/19991. Benzigar Multispeciality Hospital is 300 bedded Hospital with a well functioning Paediactric Department having three units.I was in the Paediactric Department and have worked with the outpatient, inpatient and casuality wings. In addition to that, I got opportunity to work with the well equipped neonatology department of the hospital.
